CAS Trips- Ladakh
Overview: The Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme encourages students to engage in a variety of activities alongside their academic studies. A CAS project in Ladakh offers a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a high-altitude environment, engage with the local community, and contribute meaningfully to service work.
Project Components:
- Service Work:
- Community Development: Students can participate in building and renovating local infrastructure, such as schools, community centers, and homes. This hands-on work will help improve the living conditions.
- Educational Initiatives: Organize and conduct workshops for local children and adults, focusing on subjects like English, mathematics, and environmental awareness. This will help bridge educational gaps and empower the community.
- Cultural Exchange:
- Old Monasteries: Visit and learn about the ancient monasteries in Ladakh.
- Exotic Food: Experience the local cuisine pf Ladakh. This will provide a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage and culinary traditions of Ladakh.
- Interaction with Locals: Engage with the lovely people of Ladakh through storytelling sessions, folk music, and dance performances.

Tentative Itinerary
Day 01- Leh Arrival
Early morning flight to Leh. Check in at hotel and rest the entire day at hotel to acclimatize for high altitude
Day 02- Leh - Introductory tour
Guided tour of Leh Bazaar and Leh town. Visit to Shey and Thicksey monasteries. In the afternoon visit to
Sankar Monastery.
Preparation for the CAS activity also happen
during the day
Day 03- Leh – Pangong
Drive to Pangong Lake. Check in at homestay and rest.
Day 04- 06- Service at Pangong
In the morning visit the school in a nearby village and start with the service project.
Day 07- Pangong-Leh
Drive back to Leh. Check in at hotel and rest.
Day 08- Depart Leh
Take a morning flight back to onward destination.
